Week 2 : Research Proposal

What is my current topic?
Among the topics from the brainstorming, the most interesting topic is 'difference between ordinary people's brain and serial criminal's brain' but I think it is not an appropriate topic for persuasive essay. So, my final persuasive essay will be about 'Is it okay to use brain scan as a method to catch criminals?'

What are my guiding questions?
First of all, I'm curious about whether there is a difference between ordinary people's brain and serial criminal's brain. So, I have to find some information that can support my idea(= there will be some differences between ordinary poeple's brain and serial criminal's brain). Also, I also want to know if brain scans can find the differences and explain the criminal's mind or motivation.

What are my current thoughts?
Actually, I've read an article 'Can brain scans prove criminals unaccountable?'(
http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/21507740.2014.884188) already. So, I think brain scan should be used as a method to catch criminals. I want to persuade people of the effectiveness of brain scan. So, I have to find more information about brain scan(about.. what kind of information can we get from brain scan?)

What is the opposition?

Brain scan should not be used as a method to catch criminals.
Many people have doubt about it's effectiveness.
